THE WALKABOUTS

The WALKABOUTS have been around the block a few times.  You won’t hear them complain of being through the wringer of the music industry though.  They’ve been cutting their own path every step of the way, walking high desert plateaus with glimmering rusty sunsets.  Beautiful dirty boots washed by sheets of dust.

 Since 1983, when Chris Eckman (Guitar, Vocals) met Carla Torgerson (Vocals, Guitar) while attending Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington the band have released 15 full length albums and numerous singles on a variety of well known labels.  Today their sound and songwriting are stronger than ever.  Paul Austin (Guitar), Michael Wells (Bass) Glenn Slater (Keys), and Terri Moeller (Drums) round out the current line up creating tunes that communicate with the listener in sound, idea and texture.

Actively touring and recording, The Walkabouts, in recent years have garnered a strong European fan base and much critical acclaim for their work.  Their newest full length, Travels In The Dustland - a song-cycle about the desert – presents a sound that is vast in scope, content and concept.  In 2012 FIN is very proud to be releasing a series of 7" singles from THE WALKABOUTS.
