About Fin Records
"With releases from the Walkabouts, J. Pinder, Red Jacket Mine, and others over the past year, Fin Records has established itself as a pillar of the local music community. Its releases, from hip-hop and country to indie rock, aren't bound by genre, but by a committment to high-quality local tunes proudly bound in gorgeous packaging. This shamelessly idealist label, which gives artists complete control over their music and packaging, is still young, but its future looks bright—and so, by extension, does that of the local talent it cultivates."—CHRIS KORNELIS, Seattle Weekly
Most record labels specialize in a specific kind of music or certain types of artists. Not Fin Records. If we like it, we put it out there for the world to hear.
What Fin artists have in common is a fearless commitment to the independence of their expression. They’re not trying to please a corporation. They're making music they care about and want to share.
Our label was inspired by Black Sparrow Press, the tiny publisher that took a chance on Charles Bukowski. Each limited edition Fin recording is beautifully made and packaged, and each artist is selected for their unique sound and message. Our objective is to treat our artists with respect, to be transparent with them in our business dealings, and to give them complete creative control.
Fin Records is not about promotion, we're about attraction. We're pressing music that you will want to savor, share, and collect.
We're putting out very special vinyl now, with other formats to follow over time
Fin Records is proud to support KEXP, Wild Entrust International (WEI), Climate Solutions and The Vera Project.
